San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural AssociationThe San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural Association (SFVCCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the splendors of Chinese civilization. SFVCCA is deeply committed to promoting mutual understanding, respect, and diversity among the many communities which make up Los Angeles through cultural exchange and interaction. We seek to fulfill the following goals: History The SFVCCA was founded in 1972. Since then, they have expanded to a membership of approximately 700 members in 2007. Activities/Achievements/Awards Annually, SFVCCA holds a fundraising banquet. They sponsor the San Fernando Valley Chinese Language Program as well as a Youth Leadership Program. They encourage them to be active by sponsoring Basketball teams and a Chinese Music Ensemble. SFVCCA is also working with the Chinese Heritage Foundation to establish a center for the association. They also work with the Cultural Exchange Committee, which sponsors more than 80 rural libraries in China as well as seminars in both China and the United States.
