Chinese American Association of WalnutMission StatementHistory Walnut is known as Los Angeles eastside's Little Switzerland. It is surrounded by mountains and streams, with tree lined boulevards and green grassy parks. Many Chinese Americans settled in Walnut because of its lovely environment and excellent schools. Since 1980 for 20 plus years, residents in Walnut that are of Chinese ethnicity have become the majority. In 1989, responding to the wishes of the Chinese Americans to preserve its heritage, a group of people founded theWalnut Chinese Association, later renamed to Chinese American Association of Walnut (CAAW). Activities/Achievements/Awards Sponsors the Annual Moon Festival Celebration, Senior Day, Law Day. Provides a scholarship and leadership development program. Holds an Annual Fundraising Dinner. |
