Michael Paul Chan

  Michael is a founding member of the Asian-American Theatre Company. Trained at the American Conservatory Theatre, his aacting career has taken him all over the world. His ear for dialects led Oliver Stone to cast Michael in Heaven and Earth; he was the sole American-born Asian in the company. One of his favorite roles is the saloon keeper he portrayed in the American Playhouse production of Thousand Pieces of Gold, about the first Chinese who came to America. Michael is currently on the hit TNT series The Closer. He has hundreds of credits, including Robbery Homicide Division, The Joy Luck Club, The Insider, Mrs. Harris, Falling Down, The PJ's, Spy Game, and two of the Batman movies. Michael's varied interestes and travels werve him well as an actor, as his roles most often cross both cultural and class backgrounds.
