Jack Ong

  Jack was born in Mesa, Arizona, where he only dreamed of being an actor, seeing mostly Causasians portraying Asians in movies. After earning his B.A. in journalism (with a minor in drama) of Arizona State University, Jack served as a Navy photogournalist during the Vietnam War, then settled in Los Angeles as an advertising and public relations executive. When he met the legendary agent Bessie Loo, she and Beulah Quo convinced Jack that he could indeed have an acting career. His stage credits include The Reunification Hotel, Follies at East West Players and Fabric. Movies include Art School Confidential, Akeelah and The Bee, National Lampoon's Gold Diggers and For Keeps. On TV:Huff, Dharma & Greg, Chicago Hope, and a series regular role in Hold the Rice, now in development. A former board member of the Screen Actors Guild, Jack is also a Christian minister and Executive Director of The Dr. Haing S. Ngoe Foundation, which he founded with the Oscar-winning Cambodian actor.
